Anna L. "Ann" Engelhardt, age 87, Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at Community Parkview Health & Living after an extended illness.
Ann was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Butler County, Kentucky, to Loy and Bonnie (Burris) Whalin.
On May 29, 1965, she married Mayor Blair Engelhardt and he passed away on May 17, 2007.
Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a life member of the Women's Pipecreek Democrat Club. She was a avid gardener and she loved working in her yard.
Ann is survived by two daughters, Lynn King (Kenny Cates) of Elwood and Sharon "Sherry" Ward of Anderson; three grandchildren, Michael Downham, Clinton Downham and Valerie (Randy) Woods; three great- grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Ramsey, Jennifer Englehardt and Jessica (Josh) Evans; three great-great-grandchildren, Randyn, Brenna and Camryn.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, Loy Whalin; mother, Bonnie Whalin; and husband, Mayor Blair Engelhardt.
Funeral service celebrating Ann's life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with Terry Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elwood Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
