Annabelle Stovall Weathersbee


Annabelle Stovall Weathersbee, 87, passed away peacefully Sept. 19, 2018, at St. Vincent Anderson after an extended illness.
Annabelle was born Nov. 15, 1930, to Cicero and Pattie Stovall in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. She was on the NAACP Legal Redress Committee, a member of the Household of Ruth 1190, a volunteer school tutor, urban league member, retired school crossing guard, receptionist for Dr. Hudson and she also worked at Zales and Delco.
Annabelle enjoyed church duties, bible study, gospel music, visiting the sick and shut-ins, cooking, style shows, walking, traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Annabelle leaves to cherish her memories husband of 64 years, Plexico Weathersbee Sr.; sons, Plexico (Rochelle) Weathersbee Jr., Ramon (Natalie) Weathersbee, Mark Weathersbee; daughter, Dawna (Rodney) King; sister, Patty Johnson; grandchildren, Louis (Ashley) Townsend Jr., Tatjana (Eddie) Robinson III, Karmany Weathersbee, Nzinga Weathersbee, Shaniqua Weathersbee, Assata Weathersbee; special grandkids, Larry McMichael, Aaron Anderson, Shauntel Boyd, Aaron Boyd, Natalie Maxwell, Anitra Ballan, Joya King, and Rodney King II; nieces and nephews, Nora Jenkins, Dorothy Stovall, Nataniel Stovall, Raymel Chambers, Mae Mathis, Louise Mathis, Patsy Mathis, Betty Stagg, James Mathis Jr., Ruby Torme, Claudean Mathis, Robert Mathis, Sharon Mathis, Marcus Mathis, Anthony Mathis, Dwight Mathis, Sandar Mathis, Margorie Mathis, Joyce Mathis, Patricia Ann Isom, Coleius Smith, Theoplis Smith Jr., Oleta McClurkin, Greg Stovall, Vanita Johnson, Maureen Johnson, Colleen Johnson, Lorita Johnson, Lavelle Johnson, and Albert "JR" Martin; sisters-in-law, Gladys Reed and Reatha Stovall; brothers-in-law, Bill Reed, and Theoplis Smith Sr.; special cousins, Paulette Jones and Lucille Bailey; special friend, Daisy Warner; and host of family and friends.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Stovall Sr. and Eddie Stovall; sisters, Rosa Mae Mathis and Marjorie Smith; nephews, Raymond Stovall Jr., Curtis Stovall Sr. and Samuel Stovall; and niece, Barbara Jenkins.
Services will be held Saturday at noon at New Purpose Ministries, 2604 N. Scatterfield Road, Anderson, with interment following at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon prior to service.
