Army Lee Butler-Dillard


Army Lee "Gail" Butler Dillard answered God's call at Community Hospital on Aug. 28, 2018, with her loving daughter and granddaughter by her side.
Gail was born July 3,1954, in Pittsboro, Mississippi, and was baptized at Bridges Chapel Baptist Church in 1973. Gail was united in marriage to Clyde Irvin Dillard in 1974 and moved to Xenia, Ohio. Gail relocated to Evansville, where she joined New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Honorable Walter Brown Sr. She served on the Usher Board, Mother Board and choir until her failing heath. Gail enjoyed horse racing, basketball, football, the color red and spending time with family and friends.
Gail leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Tanja (Lonzo) Brown; son, Lamar (Chelsea Robinson) Dillard; granddaughters, Ranisha Denise Dillard and Alexandria Jones; great-grandchildren, Damar and Omar, and a host of family and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Butler; sister, Marjorie Austin; aunt, Adellar Hych, and grandparents, Hearvey and Paula Sears.
Service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Ceder St, with Rev. Edgar Woodall officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to service.
