Barbara's Story

Barbara J. Tonyes, 80, of Anderson, passed away on Jan. 19, 2017.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1936, in Anderson, and resided most of her life in Anderson.
Barbara graduated from Lapel High School.
She retired as a bookkeeper-teller for National City Bank after 22 years of service.
She enjoyed crafts, her bowling league, working in her lawn, and was a volunteer for St. John's Hospital. Spending time with her family was very important to her.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael (Debbie) Tonyes and Brad Tonyes; brother, Steve K. (Cheryl) Schuyler; grandchildren, Kelli (Jonathan) Mirgeaux, and Scott (Amanda) Safford; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Safford, Cooper Safford, and Miles Mirgeaux; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Tonyes; brother-in-law, Jim Vanasdal; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Sandra J. Schuyler; sister, Judy Vanasdal; mother, Irene Schuyler; and father, Joe Schuyler.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will take place in the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
