Berta Wilson, 87, Rickman, Tennessee, passed away Dec 8, 2017.
She was born May 27, 1930, in Overton County, Tennessee, to Dock Minis and Cassie Neely Looper.
She was an Anderson, Indiana resident for 29 years. She was a charter member of Rickman First Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary, choir member, and Sunday school teacher. She was a very giving person and always willing to assist in any way. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning, quilting, and needlework.
She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Dishman of Rickman, Tennessee, and Karen (Lonny) Hunter of Markleville, Indiana; son, Rick (Lisa) Wilson of Algood, Tennessee; grandchildren, Greg (Nicki) Pell, Michael (Marty) Pell, Ricky (Sandy) Wilson, Niki (Jim) Estes, Viki (Kyle) Hall, Matt (Joanna) Hoover, Megan (Steven) Douglas, Josh (Rhiannon) Hoover, and Chris (Heather) Hunter; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Wilson, who she married on March 4, 1947; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Christine Whittaker, Grover Looper, Enlo Looper, Vaden Norrod, Woodly Looper, Roscoe Looper, Ray Looper, Arlie Looper, Anna Tinch, Willie Looper, and an infant brother.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Goff Funeral Home in Monterey, Tenneessee. The Revs. Eugene McCowan and Bobby Roberts will officiate with interment to follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
