Bettie Thompson, 92, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Rawlins House in Pendleton, where she resided.
She was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Black Rock, Arkansas, a daughter of Rector Sloan and Jennie Windows (Holobaugh) Ward.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Jennie (Kermitt) Troxell of Markleville, and Sandra (Roger) Crail of Pendleton; son, James (Patsy) Smith of Ava, Missouri; stepdaughters, June (Lawrence) Cochran of Milton, Indiana, and Mae Shively of Crawfordsville; stepsons, Bruce (Jill) Thompson of Clermont, Florida, Michael (Lanna) Thompson of Scottsboro, Alabama, and John (Patricia) Thompson of Shannon, Georgia; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren.
Thank you to the staff of Rawlins House and Compassus. Services will be at noon Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, officiated by Steve Rayburn and Bruce Thompson. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at the funeral home and an hour before the service on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Righteous Oaks Baptist Church, Warrington, Indiana.
