Charles A. McIntyre, 87, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on Dec. 23 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born and raised in Madison County, the son of Charles H. and Bertha I. McIntyre.
Charles graduated from Markleville High School. He was a retiree of Delco Remy.
After retirement, he formed his own company, McIntyre Construction, and built in Madison County. In 1980, he moved to Citrus County, Florida, and continued in the building industry. He later worked for Servicemaster and was a representative for them in several southern states.
He then made his home in Jacksonville, Florida; Miami, Florida; Alexandria, Louisiana; and Allentown, Pennsylvania, before settling in Bonita Springs, where he spent his final years.
There he enjoyed golf, fishing, reading, music and his church. He was a member of Unity of Fort Myers.
He was a Freemason, Shriner and member of the Valley of Indianapolis Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Bertha I. McIntyre; his twin sister and brother-in-law, John and Mary Helen (McIntyre) Crusmire; and an infant sister, Gloria Fern McIntyre.
He is survived by three sons and their families, Mark (wife Rhonda), Chesterfield, David (wife Marianne), Terre Haute, and Tim (wife Marilyn), Hickory Corners, Michigan; sister and brother-in-law, John and Ruth Ellen (McIntyre) Cook, Anderson; brother, Keith McIntyre, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and his companion, Joanna Boze, Bonita Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Aaron (Elizabeth) McIntyre, April (Roy) Plough, Sara (John) Cox, Lindsey McIntyre, Ian McIntyre, Coleman (Mary Ellen) McIntyre; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation is being handled by International Cremation Society. No services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
