Charles E. Murdock, 87, of Anderson, passed away Oct. 17, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on March 14, 1930, in Anderson.
Charles served his country in the U.S. Navy during where he was a pall bearer for General Patton and had drinks with President Truman.
He retired from Delco Remy.
He was a member of Elm Grove Church and United Auto Workers Local 662.
Charles is survived by his children, Margaret "Sissy" (Joe) Sonka, Tim Hollowell, Terry (Pam) Hollowell, Mike Hollowell, James (Deborah) Murdock, and Dawn Miller; brother, Norman (Joanne) Murdock; special friend, Wilma Lunsford; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Maggie and Ellet Anderson Murdock; wife, Patricia Murdock; children, Charles Richard Murdock, Evelyn Sue Gross, and Luanne Robinson; and 12 siblings.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, followed by the service at 1 p.m. with Mike Whiteman officiating.
Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park with military rites.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elm Grove Church.
