Charles O. Tate, 95, of Pendleton, passed away on Sept. 16, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Redfield, Iowa, on March 2, 1922, to Charles and Sarah (Combs) Tate.
Charles served his country in the Army during World War II. After the war he worked as a union electrician until his retirement. He was a member of the IBEW.
He is survived by grandson, Dean Anthony (Gloria) Tate of California; stepdaughters, Susan (Michael Hart) Markle and Lee Ann (Randy) Hamilton; stepdaughter-in-law, Julie Bravo; stepgrandchildren, Homer Markle, Lilli Markle, Gina Markle, Kelsey Hamilton, and yle Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Valarie Tate, and Michael Ashbrook.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Prakel) Tate; and stepson, Kent Markle.
The family would like to thank all of his caregivers, especially Dee Keller and Lucretia Mier, and St. Vincent Anderson Hospice.
Per Charles's request, there will be no services. Celebrations of Life will take place with family and friends at a later date. Cremation will take place.
