Cheryl's Story

Cheryl Edgecomb Blackford, 38, of Frankton, passed away, July 18, 2017, at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family after bravely battling several debilitating health issues. She was born Dec. 3, 1978, in Anderson and resided all of her life in this area.
Cheryl graduated from Frankton High School in 1997 and from Indiana Business College.
She was a Homemaker.
She was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church, Anderson. Cheryl's family was her life and her passion, always worrying about them before herself. She loved planning and taking vacations with her family. Cheryl liked to collect Campbell's soup memorabilia for her kitchen, and had a passion for singing.
Cheryl is survived by her husband and best friend, Aaron Blackford, of Frankton, whom she married April 10, 1999, in Anderson; son Riley Blackford, of Frankton; daughters Kinsey Blackford and Emilee Blackford, of Frankton; mother, Joyce Edgecomb, of Frankton; a sister, Brenda (Mark) Flick, of Bloomington, brothers and sisters-in-law Jason Blackford, of Carmel, Carrie Elder, of Elwood, Joshua Stowers, of Greenfield, and Lauren Blackford of Pennsylvania. Cheryl is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Ashley Flick, Allison Flick, Chandler Blackford, Aidan Blackford, Lucy Blackford, Garrett Elder and Grace Elder; loyal canine companion Einstein; and numerous loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert "Bob" Edgecomb, father- and mother-in-law, Dale Blackford and Sheryl Stowers; and grandparents Elmer and Doris Edgecomb and Coy and Faye Morgan.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, Anderson.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, Anderson, with Rev. John Hackney officiating.
Burial will take place in the K. of P. IOOF Cemetery in Frankton.
