Christine A. Loftus, 82, of Anderson, passed away Feb. 4, 2017, at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation in Middletown.
She was born on Jan. 11, 1935, in Dunkirk, N.Y.
Christine graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Lancaster, Ohio. She did her undergraduate work at Ohio Dominican and later received her masters degree from the University of Dayton.
She retired from South Madison Community Schools where she was a teacher. She was formerly a Dominican Nun for 25 years, and also was a chaplain for St. John's Hospital in Anderson.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson.
Christine is survived by her loving husband, Mark E. Loftus of Anderson; sister, Jeannie (Bill) Patterson of Somers, N.Y.; brother, Thomas Mack of Connecticut; sister-in-law, Susan L. Lind of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by father, Thomas Mack; mother, Mildred Mack; and two sisters, Mary Marcia Good and Joanie Wolfinger.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating. Entombment will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
