David A. Butler, 59, of Anderson, passed away Jan. 25, 2018, at Providence Nursing Home in Anderson.
He was born June 13, 1958, in Anderson, where he resided all of his life.
David graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1976.
He was a retired custodian for Anderson Community Schools.
He loved to spend time with his friends and family. Everyone thought of David as a big teddy bear! He had an outstanding smile and laugh that brought joy to everyone.
David is survived by his loving mother, Dona Butler; sister, Kathy Ganzhorn; niece, Jesique Swafford; nephew, Geremy Swafford; great-niece, Siara Swafford; great-nephews, Korey, Kamen, and Kodie Swafford, and great-great-nephew, Kanon Swafford.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Butler; and great-nephew, Kyle Swafford.
The family would like to thank the staff at Providence for all their care of David, but more importantly their friendship and being a special part of his life.
Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
