Earnest Duel Fields, 81, Summitville, passed away on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Community Hospital Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on May 5, 1936, in Edmonton, Kentucky, to Millard and Beulah (Fields) Fields and had lived in Summitville since 1953. Earnest was a carpenter for 40 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Summitville and loved to fish.
He is survived by his sons, Lester "Mike" (Tina) Fields of Elwood, Brian Keith (Diane) Fields of Marion, Robbie (Lisa) Fields and Jeffery Paul (Heather) Fields, both of Summitville; daughters, Angela D. (Rick) Tomlinson of Summitville and Lori (Steve) Trask of Forest, Virginia; sisters, Annis (James) Wright and Edna Gosser, both of Summitville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joyce Fields; second wife, Sandra K. Fields; four brothers; five sisters; a half-brother and a half-sister.
Services celebrating Earnest's life and legacy will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Summitville First Baptist Church, 700 E. Mill St., Summitville with Pastor Alex Beane officiating. Friends may call at the church from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Summitville First Baptist Church through the funeral home.
