Eddie J. Wright, 69 of Fort Myers, Fla., and formerly of Elwood, died July 10, 2017, in Fort Myers.
He was born April 15, 1948, in Elwood, to Edward and Genevieve (Todd) Wright. He was a graduate of Anderson High School, and worked at Delco Remy in Anderson for 30 years.
He married Mary L. Harting June 30, 1989. Eddie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Elwood Elks, Elwood Conservation Club, United Auto Workers Local 662, and the "Six-Pack" Fishing Club. He enjoyed archery, hunting, boating, fishing and bowling. He was a certified A.S.A. umpire, and coached softball for many years. Eddie had a great sense of humor and was devoted to his family.
Eddie's family includes wife, Mary Wright of Fort Myers, Fla.; daughter, Alycia (Scott) Brown of Greentown; three stepchildren, Dawn (Vince) Bradley of Fort Myers, Fla., Stephanie (Chris) Johnson of Powell, Ohio, and Lynne (Sam) Alameda of South Bend; sister, Judy (Ron) Huffman of Elwood; granddaughter, Kacey Brown of Fort Wayne; five stepgrandchilden, Johnathan Bradley, Mac Johnson, Declan Johnson, Lauren (husband, Tim) Beatty, and Chris Susaraba; three nieces, Rhonda, Lynn, and Rae Ann; and beloved dog, "Maggy May".
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with the Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Elwood City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
