Edith M. Mullens, born on May 15, 1944, died on Saturday morning, Dec. 9, 2017, following an extended illness.
She was born in Marion, the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Dennison) McElhany, and was a lifelong resident of Indiana.
On May 19, 1962, she married the love of her life, Ernest Mullens.
Edith was an avid volunteer, supporting many organizations including the Mental Health Association, Gold Ladies, school activities with her children, and many church functions.
She was also a life member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Edith is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ernest Mullens; daughter, Mary Lou and husband Sam Taylor; daughter, Pamela Idlewine; son-in-law, Charles Idlewine; grandchildren, James (Jillian) Taylor, Shelby (Justin Jameson) Idlewine, and Morgan Taylor.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen McElhany; and grandson, Charles Roy Idlewine.
A funeral for Edith will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, with Pastor Jim Ballinger officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P.-I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the funeral home.
