Elbert Ebe C. Cotton, Jr. Elbert C. "Ebe" Cotton, Jr., 84, of Elwood, died Jan. 5, 2018, at home in Fishers.
He was born Aug. 17, 1933, in Elwood, son of Elbert and Adelia (Kennedy) Cotton, Sr.
Ebe owned Cotton Insurance & Real Estate in Elwood from 1965 to 2002. He was a 1951 graduate of Wendell Willkie High School; attended Wabash College; served in the Army in the Korean War; and graduated from Ball State with a B.S. degree in teaching.
He married Margaret "Marge" Parr on Feb. 15, 1958.
He joined St. Joseph Church in Elwood in 1989 and was a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church in Fishers. He was a member of the V.F.W., Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, Indy and Anderson Boards of Realtors, and former Elwood Country Club.
Ebe's family includes wife, Marge Cotton, of Fishers; four children, Elbert (Deb) Cotton, of Noblesville, Thomas (Akiko) Cotton, of Fishers, Jeffrey Cotton, of Fishers, and Holly Cotton (Jack Collier), of Fishers; four siblings, Patricia Gaither, of Anderson, David (Nan) Cotton, of Elwood, Karen Abernathy, of Indianapolis, and Donald Cabe, of Anderson; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kay Cotton and James Cotton; and daughters-in-law, Geri Cotton and Rachel Cotton.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at St. Joseph Church in Elwood, with father Dan Gartland officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood and will include military honors. Visitation is 4 to 7:30 p.m .Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood, and includes a Rosary service and Elks memorial consecutively starting at 7 p.m.
