Elizabeth first graced the Earth on Nov. 17, 1939, in Union Springs, AL. She was a treasured member of Anderson Zion Baptist Church, where her love for cooking shined bright. Elizabeth was an amazing woman who had unwavering faith in the Lord. Always giving so much, a true servant's heart. She brightened up the many lives she came across with one smile. Elizabeth was a pillar of the community, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a true friend.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 52 years, Willie J. Woods; daughters, Theresa Woods and Denifer (Ervin) Malone; son, Willie (Tameka) Woods Jr.; five amazing grandchildren, Kiara Woods, Brittney Edwards, Isaiah Woods, Randell Malone and Alyssa Woods; sisters, Annie Blair, Mary Blair, Roberta Ward, Sadie Kearse, Lynder McAlpine and Vonnie Duncan; brothers, Charles (Melissa) Blair and Bosie Blair; best friend, Annie Jean Chamberlain; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Sylvester Blair; and three brothers.
Service will be held at noon Thursday at Anderson Zion Baptist Church, 2008 Rev. J T Menifee St., with Rev Edgar Woodall officiating and burial at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service.
