Forrest Harold Simmonds, 98, of Anderson, passed away July 14, 2017, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson. He was born on Feb. 16, 1919, in Anderson to the late John and Eva (Jarrett) Simmonds.
Forrest served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Guide Lamp as a skilled tradesman in 1981 after 35 years of service. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson. Forrest enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Vivian (Griner) Simmonds; children, John (Marcia) Simmonds, of Virginia, Dan (Claire) Simmonds, of Ohio, and Jennie (Dave) Denniston, of Anderson; grandchildren, Dan (Lindsay) Denniston, Amanda (Jeremihua) Davis, Ashley (Mike) Billman, Matthew (Lora) Simmonds; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Forrest was preceded in death by his siblings, Don Simmonds, and Virginia "Gay" Snyder.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013, with Rev. Paul Simmonds officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
