Frances (Welch) Anderson, 93, of Anderson, passed away Jan. 16, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1923, in Sparta, Tenn., and resided most of her life in Anderson.
She was retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after working 43 years.
Frances was very active in her community and lived life independently and to the fullest.
She was a member of the Lost Creek Methodist Church in Sparta, Tenn., former president of the Delco Remy Travelers Club, active in the Delco Remy Plant 8 and 17 Retirees Club, United Auto Workers Retirees, and the 50 Plus Retirees Club in Elwood.
She enjoyed crocheting for her grandchildren and traveling with her family.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Betty (Gary) Hayes of Anderson, Kay (Dan) Wehner of Anderson; grandchildren, Cecelia Fay Poe, Jayne (Chuck) McCord, Mike (Teresa) Poe, Noxie Poe Byrd, John (LeeAnn) Poe, Kevin Poe, Mehgan (Kevin) Baird, Jennifer Gibbs, Sean Wehner, Terry Hayes, Steve Hayes, and Kimberly (Charles) Habekost; 25 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great- grandchildren; and two nephews, David Welch and Randy (Donna) Welch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Emma Welch; three brothers, Thomas Welch, Milton Welch and John L. Welch; a sister, Nellie Guy; a son-in-law, Mike Poe; and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Welch.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Marcum officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
