Glenn C. Skillman
He was born April 23, 1929, in Elwood, the son of Oakley and Doris (Cowley) Skillman. Glenn retired from Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson in 1988. He was a 1947 graduate of Frankton High School, and married Eunice "Maureen" Sullivan on Aug. 5, 1950.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elwood and UAW Local 662. Glenn enjoyed golfing at the Yule Golf Club near his home in Alexandria; attending all of his family's sporting events and functions; and was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
Glenn's family includes his wife, Maureen Skillman; three sons, Bill (Susan) Skillman of Fort Myers, Fla., Mike (Kathy) Skillman of Bolivia, N.C., and Jim (Carol) Skillman of Belleaire Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Ann Caldwell; sister-in-law, Anita Skillman; and several nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 1500 North A. St., Elwood, with Rev. Bill Mathys and Rev. Jennifer Charles officiating. Entombment will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood and an hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday.
