Golda "Mae" Thompson, 81, of Chesterfield, passed away March 11, 2018, at Miller's Merry Manor in Middletown.
She was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Monterey, Tennessee, and resided most of her life in Chesterfield.
She was previously employed with Camp Chesterfield and retired from Motel 8.
She was a member of The Women of the Moose Lodge 150, and an avid bowler.
Golda is survived by her husband of 64 years, Melvin Thompson of Chesterfield; children, Carolyn Morgan of Chesterfield, Karen Thompson-Stover of Chesterfield, Diane (Mike) Ashby of Chesterfield, Rayburn Thompson of Chesterfield, and Christa (Marshall) Clark of Anderson; two brothers, Lonnie (Barb) Short and James Robert (Ruby)Short, all of Anderson; two sisters, Joyce (Buddy) Patterson of Chesterfield, and Glenda (Jim) Gerard of Anderson; grandchildren, Shane, Brad, Nick, Megan, Jenny, Samantha, Jeffrey Lee, Heather, Cassandra, Nikkia, Loradannon, Rayburn Jr., and Sydney; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also survived by special family members, John Morgan, and Chuck Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Melvin Rayburn Thompson; siblings, Lena, Jack, Tom, Brenda and Melvin; and a son-in-law, Jim Stover.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Faulkner officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
