Gorman H. "Doc" Self, 97, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 25, 2017, at Henry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Hartman, Arkansas, the son of Jacob and Felia (MacKnight) Self.
Doc served in the United States Army during World War II.
He worked maintenance and inspection for Delco Remy for more than 30 years.
He was a member of Parkview Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Doc was preceded in death by his wife, Lela (Light) Self, whom he married Dec. 14, 1943, in Clarksville, Arkansas; his parents; siblings, Talmage, Dexter, Raymond, Alonzo, Howard Self, Lola Dennis and Mabel MacIntyre.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at noon.
Memorial contributions may be given to Parkview Church of the Nazarene.
