Alexandria native Grace E. (Farrington) Reavis, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at Providence of Anderson.
Grace was born on May 11, 1929, in Alexandria, to Virgil and Etta Mae (Alexander) Farrington. She was a graduate of Morton Memorial High School and ISSCH in Knightstown, She was an active member of the Knightstown Children's Home Alumni Association and was an organizer of many of their class reunions.
Grace had worked for Vanity Cleaners when she lived in Alexandria. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Shelbyville for more than 60 years and a former member of the Alexandria American Legion Auxiliary. Grace was an avid reader and a NASCAR fan, loyal to driver Tony Stewart. She had a unique fondness for Boston terriers and raised several as her family down through the years.
Survivors included nieces and nephews; Robert Farrington-Anderson, Harold Farrington-North Carolina, Elizabeth Farrington-Anderson, Scott Johnson-California, Brad (Michele) Johnson-Muncie, Christopher Johnson-Muncie, Elizabeth Arkadie-Minnesota and Robert Johnson-Muncie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 29 years, Darvin Reavis in 2009; brothers, John Edward Farrington and Robert Eugene Farrington; sisters, Sarah Frances Bishop, Betty Jean Johnson and Luella Mae Lynch.
Services honoring Grace's life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Noffze Funeral Home, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria. Chaplain Rob Mifflin will officiate. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Alexandria.
