Haward Elwood Rogers, 91, of Chickasaw, Alabama, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 at his home. He was born and reared in Metropolis, Illinois.
He served in the Navy during World War II, graduated from Anderson College in 1951, and later retired from Delco Remy in Anderson.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Marilyn Hille Rogers; his children, Linda (Charles)Grinnell, Nancy King, Sandra(Ray Jones) Conner and Paul(Rebecca) Rogers; his grandchildren, Laura Grinnell, Carrie Smith, Matthew (Jayne)Spencer, Carol (Lonnie) Walker, Nicole Scott, Wesley Morgan and Benjamin Rogers; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Willie (Denton) Rogers; brothers, Allen Denton Rogers and Lloyd Rogers; grandchildren, Jami Spencer and Mark Spencer; son-in-law, Larry King; and grandson-in-law, David Smith.
A private service was held in Chickasaw, Alabama.
