Hettie Lee Smith, 90, Anderson, passed away Feb. 27, 2017 at her residence in Anderson. She was born March 2, 1926 in Salem, Arkansas.
She retired in 1989 from St. John's Hospital in Anderson where she worked in food service for 23 years.
She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren, and was famous for her pie making.
Hettie is survived by her daughter, Linda S Carmack, of Anderson; son, Rex (Becky) Smith, of Naples, Florida; daughter, Debra Delp, of Orlando, Florida; daughter, Denise Halgas, of Chesterfield; daughter, Paula Sasser, of Clearwater, Florida; sister, Patti (John) Murray, of Anderson; brother, Fred (Diana) Haney, of Anderson; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Shelby Haney; mother, Elsie Haney; former husband of 38 years, Charles Eugene Smith; son, Raymond Reynolds; son, Dennis Smith; brother, Bill Haney; sister, Ollie Watkins; brother, Don Haney; sister, Betty Haney; sister, Margie Haney; three grandchildren, Debbie Wagner, Chelsea Sasser and Marcus Crabbe; and great-grandson, Phillip Wagner.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home with Sherrill Alred officiating.
Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
