Jack O. Colson, 85, of Fortville, passed away Sept. 18, 2017, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Greencastle, to the late Theodore and Helen (McWilliams) Colson. Jack was a 1950 graduate of Fortville High School and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 662, Fortville F&AM Lodge 207, American Legion Post 391, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6904 and had served on the Fortville Volunteer Fire Department. Jack retired from the former Delco Remy in Anderson in 1997 after 47 years of service.
Jack is survived by brothers, David (Sue) Colson of Fortville, Bill Colson of Middletown, and Ned Colson of Cincinnati; special friend, Tom Siebers; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel, 9088 W. 1025S, Fortville, with military honors following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Humane Society, 214 E. Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140.
