James Harry Brenner, 61, of Alexandria, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at his residence after a brief illness.
Jim was born on May 21, 1956, the son of James A. and Margret (Williams) Brenner. On Dec. 15, 1979, he married Karen (Parker) Brenner who survives.
Jim was employed at General Motors, Marion. He was a member of the Church of St. Mary's and Tack Room University.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Karen; his children, Jimmie (Danielle) Brenner, Joe Brenner, Amanda (Chris) Tucker, and Anna (Earnest) Abbott; his mother, Margaret Brenner; sisters, Carol (Jim) Durgan, Susan (Joe) Nelson, and Joanne (Tony)Smith; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Brenner; and a sister, Linda Wilson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary's, Alexandria. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery.
Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria, on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made in Mass Offerings to the Church of St. Mary's.
Mass envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
