James J. Marvell, of Anderson, passed away Dec. 17, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital.
He was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Anderson, the son of Eldon and Velma Marvell.
He was a graduate of Daleville High School and worked at General Motors for more than 36 years.
He was a member of the American Legion of Chesterfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Hubert.
He is survived by his sons, James O. Marvell and Timothy (Anita) Marvell; daughters, Kimberly Combs (Ted Rinehart) and Beth (Tim) Chapman; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Aloma S. Marvell-Smith (Floyd "Skip"), Mike (Nancy) Marvell, Rob (Sheila) Marvell, Paul Marvell, Jennifer (Kendel) Rinker and Chester Turner; the love of his life, Kay-tee; and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving is his great friend, Fritz Chambers who was of great support and brought him doughnuts throughout his illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 S. Walnut St., Daleville, with Carl Cloud officiating. Burial will follow in Saunders Cemetery, Daleville.
Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m.
