Janet Lackey Gordon HOUSTON [mdash] Janet Lackey Gordon, 75, passed away in Houston, Texas, on Jan. 5, 2019, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 2, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Nolan and Ruth Lackey; and sister, Nancy.
A career nurse, Janet graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis and received a master of science in nursing from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Janet spent several years on the nursing staff of Memorial Medical Center in Corpus Christi. She subsequently moved to Houston and joined the staff of Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, from which she later retired.
Janet is survived by son, Cliff Gordon (Deborah) of Corpus Christi; son, Andrew Gordon (Candi); granddaughter, Caitlin Obaye (Hassan); great-grandchildren, Layla and Aymen Obaye, all of Houston; sister, Barbara (Sherman) of Oxford, Michigan; niece, Jennifer Avila (Mario) of Chicago; and nephew Nick Adams (Kahoru) of Castroville, California.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

I worked for Janet for quite a few years in the Recovery Room at Memorial Hospital. She was a sweet and kind woman. We shared many laughs and I was honored to enjoy her friendship. Prayers of comfort for your family.
