Jason Leroy Bales, 61, Middletown, died following a sudden heart attack on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
Jason was born Jan. 18, 1956, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Roy and Rosa (Stephen) Bales Jr.
He was employed by Hoosier Park in security and previously worked 30 years at BorgWarner.
He was a member of East Side Church of God. He was a beekeeper and enjoyed chess, fishing and yard work.
Jason is survived by his wife of eight wonderful God-blessed months, Paula (Mitchell) Nevins of Middletown; mother, Rosa (Stephen) Bales of Muncie; two sisters, Shirley (Dave) Applegate of Yorktown and Diana (Rollie) Bell of Muncie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Bales Jr.
Service will take place at noon Tuesday at East Side Church of God, 2600 E. Fifth St., Anderson, with the Rev. Glen Cox officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to East Side Church of God for Paula's mission trip to Belize.
