Jean Frances Langley Douglas, 85, was released from her mortal coils in Indianapolis, on Oct. 13, 2017.
Born in Anderson, to Charles Roscoe Langley and Mary Jane Naylor French Langley, she held degrees from both Stephens College in Missouri and Ball State University in Muncie.
Jean worked for Trans World Airlines for five years. She left TWA to marry and start her family. Her love and concern for others led her to serve as a social worker in Delaware County before returning to Anderson to manage the family farm, raise her children, Dirk and Honi-Jean, and care for her aged mother.
She enjoyed music, performing in local theater and choral productions. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Jean is survived by her children, Honi-Jean (Daniel) Douglas Schroeder of Indianapolis and Dirk Douglas of Virginia; grandchildren, Nicholas (Sarah Mohr) Schroeder, Jeanne (Vidal) Rodriguez-Cerena, and David (Morgan Johnson) of Indianapolis; and two great-grandchildren, Liana and Ace Rodreguez-Cerena.
Private graveside services will be held.
Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services in Indianapolis assisted the family with arrangements.
