Jerry's Story

Jerry Eugene Gray, 76, Anderson, passed away at his residence on May 14, 2017.
He was born Nov. 13, 1940, in Anderson, to Wilbur and Bertha (Van Horn) Gray.
He graduated from Pendleton High School and served his country in the United States Air Force as an MP. He retired from Delco Remy (Plant 11) in 1999 after 35 years of service.
Jerry enjoyed NASCAR, IU basketball, Chicago Cubs, camping, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 55 years, Janice (Ritenour) Gray of Anderson; children, Christina (Gray New) Ford of Anderson, and Jerry D. Gray, of Anderson; grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) New of Greenwood, Kyle (Darin) New of Muncie, Devin (Lucas)New of Perrysburg, Ohio; brother, John (Sandy) Gray of Rusk, Texas; niece, Betty (Hedge) Mitchell of Anderson; and several other nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Hannah.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Eddy and his staff for all of the wonderful care they provided.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Wanda (Gray) Hedge.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, with full military rites.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
