Jerry Lee Welch, 80, of Ludington, Mich., passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2017.
Jerry was born on April 17, 1937, the son of Ralph and Minnie (Howard) Welch. He was a farmboy raised in Indiana, where he showed beef for 4-H. Jerry was enlisted in the United States Army for two years, then the Army Reserves. He worked for Motor Wheel Corporation in Lansing, Mich., until retirement, although retirement was short-lived as he then worked for WalMart in Ludington and Florida for another 10 years. Jerry was wed to Michele Rother on Aug. 22, 1970. He was a member of American Legion and Ludington Boat Club, and enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating and sports.
Jerry was a devoted husband and father, and loved by all who survive him: wife, Michele Welch; children, Joe Bleibtrey, Michael Bleibtrey, Kim Williams and Justin (Erin) Welch; grandchildren, Ashley (Garrett) McGuire, J.C., Hampton, Hattie, Hayden and Harry Bleibtrey, and Cole, Keagan and Kayden Welch; great-grandchildren, Coen and Maeve McGuire, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jerry in death are his parents, Ralph and Minnie Welch; brother, Gene Welch; and son-in-law, Stephen Williams.
