Jerry M. Wood, 78, of Anderson, passed away Feb. 13, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor in Middletown.
He was born on Dec. 8, 1938, in Anderson, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Jerry graduated from Lapel High School.
He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
He retired in 1995 from Delco Remy after 35 years of service where he worked in production.
He was a past member of Colonial United Methodist Church since 1960 until the church closed, were he served as a trustee, Pastor Parish Committee, Nominating Committee, Usher. He had attended various churches.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662. He was a tutor helper for 10 years in English classes at the library.
Jerry is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda (Randy) Turner of Anderson and Lisa (Damon) Hanna of Anderson; two grandsons, Christopher "Chris" Turner of Anderson and Zachary "Zach" Turner of Anderson; former wife, Naomi Wood of Anderson; niece, Linda (Don) Oliver of Anderson; nephew, Jeff Wood of Lewisburg, Tenn.; and several cousins who live in Illinois.
He was preceded in death by father, Virgil Wood; mother, Jennie Wood; brother, Revis Wood; and sister-in-law, Sarah Wood.
Cremation will take place and burial at a later date in Anderson Memorial Park.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Loose Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
