Joan's Story

Joan King Fleming, 81, resident of Middletown, passed away Feb. 7, 2017, at her residence.
She was born March 1, 1935, in Bethpage, Tenn., the daughter of Ernest and Mary Curuthers King.
She had been a volunteer at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital for many years and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and lived in the Middletown area since 1987.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Frank Fleming in 2008.
Surviving are three children, Steve Douglas (Debbie) Fleming of Lafayette, Donald Fleming of Anderson, and Vicki Yorio of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Marschre of Naples, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, Middletown.
Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent's Hospice.
