Joanne T. Prieshoff, 94 of Elwood, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood. She was born July 16, 1922, in Elwood to Joseph and Anna (Ward) Williams.
She was a 1940 graduate of Elwood High School and married Anthony Charles Prieshoff on June 13, 1942. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Elwood and member of the NCCW and Altar and Rosary Society. She formerly worked at Frazier's Canning Co. and I&M Power Co. and retired from Delco Remy in 1982 after 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, reading, music, traveling, babies and being with her family.
Family members are four children, Daniel Prieshoff, Elwood, Mary Fincher, Atlanta, Margaret (Larry) Hudson, Elwood, and Theresa (John) Pichtel, Gaston; grandson who grew up with her, Michael Prieshoff; brother, Thomas Williams of Inverness, Florida; sister, Margaret Brenner of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence Williams and Michael Williams; daughter, Anne Paro; and granddaughter, April Hudson.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Elwood with Father Dan Duff. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rosary Service at 6 p.m. Memorials: St. Joseph Building Fund, Alzheimer's Association or American Life League.
