John L. Clark, 70, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Auburndale, Florida, surrounded by family.
John was born in Noblesville, Indiana, on Sept. 1, 1947. He was a 1965 graduate of Lapel High School. John was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force after serving from 1966-70.
He was employed by Guide Division of General Motors until his retirement in 2000. John enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, sports cars and was a talented Scrimshaw artist.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen (O'Neil) Clark; daughters, Karla A. (Vince) Kelly and Kristina (Shawn) Foley; sons, John "Chip" (Rebecca Rommelfanger) Clark and Joseph "Joey" (Kimberly) Clark; brother, Mark A. (Cindy) Clark; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
John was preceded in death by parents, John (Bud) and Elsie Clark; brother, Danny Clark; daughter-in-law, Cory Clark; granddaughters, Jenna Clark, Ashley N. Purkey and Kaliegh Kelly; and grandson, Draven Clark.
A private family service celebrating John's life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 W. Central Ave., Winter Haven, Florida.
Donations in his memory may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice House, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823 in appreciation for the compassionate care they provided to John and his family.
