John C. Hancock, 78, of Anderson, passed away on Oct. 23, 2017, at his residence.
He was born July 5, 1939, in Anderson, where he resided all of his life.
John graduated from Anderson High School, and he retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 36 1/2 years of service.
He was a member of The Pentecostals of Anderson, United Auto Workers Local 662, and A.A. for many years. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting. He also had a love for tattoos. He has been a friend of Bill Wilson since 1976.
John is survived by his loving wife, Amy Hancock; daughter, Susan (Bill) Kurtz; granddaughter, Lindsey (Jason) Partlow; and great-grandchildren, Alexa, and Talon.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Johnson; brother, James Hancock; father, Wayne Hancock; mother, Bessie Hancock; and his sister, Sharon Sheets.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at The Pentecostals of Anderson, 630 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at the church, with Bishop Danny St. Clair officiating.
Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory has been entrusted with John's arrangements.
Entombment will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
