John A. Schultz, 87, of Alexandria, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2017, at Community Hospital of Anderson.
He was born July 16, 1930, in Muncie, and was the son of Clyde A. and Kathryn (Williamson) Schultz.
John retired as a detective with the Muncie Police Department and had served as a deputy sherriff with the Delaware County Sheriff's Department. He also drove for McClean Trucking for 11 years.
John proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. John was a 1948 graduate of Burris High School.
John is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ethel (Key) Schultz of Alexandria; three sons, John C. Schultz (Maryjo) of Ohio, Phillip Schultz of Tennessee, and Robert Schultz (Jean) of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Botkin (Mel) of Indiana.
Private graveside service for John will be held in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
