Joyce Ann (Poole) Norris, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, from Community Hospital of Anderson.
She was born on April 3, 1940, in Linwood, to Edgar and Leona (Due) Poole, and lived in the Anderson area most of her lifetime. She had worked in the Maternity Department at Community Hospital in Anderson.
She was a member of the North Anderson Wesleyan Church and the Frankton American Legion Auxiliary. Joyce loved music and dancing. She enjoyed traveling all over the world and loved all of her friends. However, her family was the first love of her life.
Her family include her favorite four-legged child, "Bo" Norris; daughters, Norma O' Connor (Larry Garmon), Anita (Chip) Chandler, and Jo Ann Stacy (Bill Smith); nephew, whom she loved like a son, Terry (Susan) Poole; grandchildren, Mandy Kae O'Connor (Doc Biddle), Cassandra (Derek) Luttrell, and Jessica Denniston (Chris Hobbs); great-grandchildren, Caite Stewart, Courtney Stewart, Teresa Barenberg, Matthew Hobbs, Julia Barenberg; and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Georgie "Jim" Norris in 2014; brothers, Robert (Sue) Poole and Raymond (Irma)Poole; and sister, Lois Smith.
Services honoring Joyce's life and legacy will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria with Pastor Eddie Perciful officiating. Interment will follow in Park view Cemetery in Alexandria.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
