Kerry Sylvester, 62, Lapel, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at his home unexpectedly.
He was born on March 7, 1955, in Noblesville, to Donald and Barbara (Marshall) Sylvester.
Kerry was graduated from Lapel High School in 1973 and received an associate's degree from Ivy Tech and a bachelor's degree from California Coast University.
He retired from the former Guide Division of General Motors in Anderson.
Kerry was a member of numerous car clubs and loved to attend car shows. He had even restored numerous classic cars. He loved to spend time in the garage with his dog and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tarri (Howe); two daughters, Sarah (husband, Ryan) Ochs of Anderson and Rachael Sylvester (significant other, Sergio Pulido) of Redlands, California; two granddaughters, Sophia Sylvester and Ava Ochs; two brothers, Steve Sylvester of Houston, Texas, and Mike (wife, Cheri) Sylvester of Anderson; and his dog, Ellie (Doodie).
Kerry was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with the Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main Street, Lapel.
