PENDLETON -- Larry G. Crouch Sr., 69, of Pendleton, passed away at his home on June 15, 2019, following an extended illness.
He was born in Winchester, Kentucky, on Aug. 7, 1949, to James and Mary (King) Crouch.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Madison County. He honorably served in the United States Army and retired from Amtrak in October 2014, where he worked as a refrigeration technician at the Beech Grove railway maintenance facility. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the American Legion, a member of the Masonic Lodge (Pleasant Lodge 134 F&AM) and was the former vice president of the Sheetmetal Workers Local 179.
Larry was an amazing husband and father (and a friend to everyone he met!). In the mid-'80s, he and his brother owned Crouch Brothers Racing, a successful mini stock car team; his love for NASCAR stemmed from this. He was a sports fan who always rooted for the "underdog," but only if the Colts and the Pacers were not playing. Larry also loved nature. Whether fishing, mowing, working in the yard or just sitting quietly by a campfire, he was always happy to be outdoors. Larry will be lovingly remembered for the remarkable impact he had on the lives of his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jane (Kelley) Crouch; three sons, Steve Crouch of Pendleton, Lonnie Crouch of Pendleton, and Larry (Jessica) Crouch of Ingalls; one brother, Doug (Lynn) Crouch of Alexandria; three sisters, Nita Watkins of Marion, Marcia (Tim) Trueblood of Alexandria, and Lena Holaday of Anderson; nine grandchildren, Dusty, Kyle, Sara, Chelsea, Nita, Ethan, Caleb, Josh and Brooklyn; one great-granddaughter, Madisyn; and several family members and friends whom he loved dearly.
Special thanks for everything to our niece and precious Angel, Kim Easter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Joyce Abernathy.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 504 W. Ninth St., Anderson.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. A Masonic service will be conducted just prior to the funeral.
Cremation will follow.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Mortuary Services.

Uncle Larry was such a gentle person and I loved his sense of humor. I am praying for Aunt Jane and cousins and family as I cannot be there in person, but I am there in Spirit.

In remembrance of the man who helped me become the stronger women I am today. My papaw would encourage greater things for us children and I would endure all of what papaw said and not only did it help me become a successful CNA , he helped me overcome obstacles in life I couldn’t face myself.
I will miss you so much papaw , you were my other half . I love you with all my heart I know you will be watching us children everyday protecting us when things get tough.
