Larry Joe Eshelman, 80, of Pendleton, passed away after a long battle fighting Parkinson's disease and dementia on Dec. 24, 2017, at the Rawlins House in Pendleton. He was born on Sept. 7, 1937, in Tipton, and resided most of his life in Pendleton and Anderson.
Larry graduated from Anderson High School in 1955, and then Purdue University in 1964.
He worked for Delco Remy/Magnequench, General Motors and retired after 37 years of service.
He loved to farm, garden, fish and travel, but he especially loved to spend time with his family.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edna (Carey) Eshelman of Fishers; children, Phillip "Phil" "Sad" Eshelman, Michael "Mike" (Diana) Eshelman, Bradley "Brad" (Kelly) Eshelman and Victoria "Vickie" Rhule; grandchildren, Jake (Samantha) Eshelman, Amanda Eshelman, Michelle Eshelman, Brian Eshelman, Jessica (Matt) Todd, Justin Eshelman, Nick (Jess) Rhule and Liz (Andy) Enix; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Nita Pickering, Rita Ashby and Mary Kay (Lynn) Antrim; special ex-son-in-law, Steve Rhule; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Eshelman; mother Jeanne (Werner) Burk; son, Gregory "Greg" Eshelman; and granddaughter, Angela "Angie" Anderson-Eshelman.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
