Lewis "Dean" Bannon, 82, passed away Dec. 31, 2017, at his residence in Racine, Wisconsin.
He was born May 27, 1935, in Gas City, Indiana, and resided most of his life in the Anderson area.
Dean graduated from Anderson High School and served in the U.S. Army.
He was retired as the controller for The Herald Bulletin newspaper in Anderson in 1997. He previously worked as the controller for the Kokomo Tribune newspaper for 20 years.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and enjoyed outdoor activities especially boating and camping.
Lewis is survived by his son, Michael (Terri) Bannon of Racine, Wisconsin; son, Patrick Bannon of Racine, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Erin Bannon; and a grandson, Marc Bannon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna (Brown) Bannon; parents, Madelyn (Conley) Bannon and Arza Bannon; and a brother, James Lee Bannon.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, Indiana.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt Manning officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, Indiana. Military graveside rites will be by the Daleville American Legion.
