Linda's Story

Text size

Linda Kay McFarland, 74, Anderson, passed away March 25, 2017, at her home.
She was born Nov. 9, 1942, in Anderson.
Linda was a loving mother, sister, wife, and friend.
Linda loved to laugh, dance, and cook. She left her children with a house full of stuff and hearts full of love.
Linda graduated from Anderson High School in 1961. She became a mother at an early age with her son, Hollis (Lee) Ehrlich-Blair children Michele and Rachel of Boyne City, Mich. She worked hard to provide for her family. She later married Paul E. "Buss" McFarland. They had four children together. Jennifer (Cameron) Fouts, son Gavin of Anderson, Amy (Garrett) Flora, daughter Sydney of Westfield, Polly (John) Inholt, children Kirstie, Tommy and Rylee of Lapel, and Jason (Chasity) McFarland, son Ezra of Fort Wayne.
Mom always had wonderful friends and family who helped her after Buss passed away. We never knew we ever went without.
Linda fulfilled her dream and became a nurse in 1992. A great career for someone who loved to take care of others.
Mom taught us to live by the Golden Rule. "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also for them, for this is the Law of the Prophets." Matthew 7:12. So today as you read this, love your family and friends because life is short. Linda deeply loved her cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Vera Elmore; her husband, Paul E. McFarland; and her sister, Sande Johnson.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful people who loved and took such great care of our momma Linda Kay.
Don't be sad for Linda because she is no longer in pain. We imagine she is skipping with Sande, picking daisies, and loving her family.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Loose Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Dementia Society, or any charity that seeks to spread the Good News of Linda's friend Jesus.
