Lois S. Dever, 87, Frankton, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Community North Hospital following an extended illness.
Lois was born March 13, 1930, in Elwood to Luther and Hattie (Cox) Slayton.
On Nov. 26, 1960, she married Mack Dever and he passed away Sept. 22, 2004. Lois retired in 1987 from Delco Remy after 30 years of service.
She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662, former member of Main Street Wesleyan Church of Elwood, the Elwood Country Club and the Elwood Elks.
Lois enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, wintering in Florida and during the summer spending time on Lake Tippecanoe. She loved to spend time with her friends and family.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Tamara King of Pendleton; son, Jeffrey Fike of Port Charlotte, Florida; grandchildren, Brandie Harper, Neal Harper, Leah Hobbs, Tina Miller and Dawn Cox; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Joseph, Hubert, Cecil, Paul, John and Kenneth Slayton, and sister, Lassie Johnson.
Funeral service celebrating Lois's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, with the Rev. Tim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elwood Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
