Mamie "Jean" Thomas Ford transitioned to Heaven on Aug. 18, 2018.
She was born in Orion, Alabama, to Curbie and Lessie Ford. She graduated from Anderson High School and then furthered her education at IUPUI where she earned an associate degree.
Jean enjoyed gardening, running, managing her candy store, exercising, rummaging and spending quality time with her family. Jean was employed by Madison County Historical Society.
She is survived by a son, Devin R. Ford; grandchildren, Latoya Stennis, Devin Ford Jr.( Latissa Patton), Davon Ford, Monique Jackson, Tiana Ford, and Martez Wills; great-grandchildren, Damarius Ford and Ty'Lasia Staples; brothers, William "Bill" Ford (Clifford), and Curtis Ford; sister, Joy "Sweet" Ford; special great-nephew, Antonio McMullen a/k/a/ "Tone" along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; and special friend, Carla Wills.
Services celebrating Jean's life will be at noon Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Second Missionary Baptist Church. The Revs. O.C. Poole and William O'Neal will officiate.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to noon at the church.
