Marcelline A. "Marcy" King, 86, Alexandria, passed away on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at the Alexandria Care Center following an extended illness.
She was born on April 14, 1931, in Fort Recovery, Ohio, to Eldon and Agnes (Brady) Collins and had lived in Alexandria since 1955. Marcy retired from Delco Remy in Anderson with more than 40 years of employment. She was a former member of the Alexandria Eagles Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Alexandria. She also volunteered in the office at St. Mary's School for more than 10 years.
Marcy enjoyed fishing, reading and was an avid fan of IU basketball. Family was very important to Marcy, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy (Jim) Wehsollek, Alexandria, Mary (Anita) King, Elwood, and Teresa Logan, Bristol;
12 grandchildren, Kyle (Rachel) Martin, Clint (Cassy) Martin, Colton (Alyson) Wehsollek, Kirstyn Wehsollek, Travis Logan, Zachary Logan, Bill (Jorden) Logan, Jocelyn (Adam) Valentiny, Addi King, Bryce King, Jason (Jay) Scott and Brent (Krista) Scott; 25 great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Collins, Lucille Collins, Velma Bowlin and Roxie Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 31 years-Russell King in 1986; son, Steve King in 2010; son-in-law, Mike Martin; and seven older brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 820 West Madison, Alexandria. Father Dan Duff will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A Rosary Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home to close the visitation hours.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Mary's School through the funeral home.
The King family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the loving and compassionate care given to Marcy and her family by the staff and caregivers at the Alexandria Care Center for the past 7.5 years and recently by The Hospice Group.
