She was a waitress and worked as a cashier, her last job being at Food Land in Park Place.
She was a member of VFW and D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary, and was known as "The Flower Lady on Lincoln."
Margaret is survived by her sons, Steve Smith and Leslie Darrah; sisters, Shirley Sparks and Dorothy Hill; granddaughter, Joni Large; and several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Joann Gates and Brenda Lawson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Smith Jr.; parents, Calvin and Georgia (Riner) Sparks; siblings, John Sparks, Claude Sparks, Earl Sparks, Edward Sparks and Edna Sosbe.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana.
Services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at the funeral home, with Pastor Joe Roysden officiating.
