Marilyn Ann Shuter, age 89, lifelong resident of Elwood and Frankton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at Lindberg Crossing in Anderson. Marilyn was born on April 23, 1928, in Elwood to the late Howard and Cleo (Chenoweth) Jones. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1946 and attended Ball State Teachers College. On April 8, 1950, she married the love of her life, Mervin Leslie Shuter, and he passed away on Aug. 24, 2007. Marilyn had worked for Gulf Fertilizer Plant and also farmed alongside her husband. She was a faithful member of the Frankton United Methodist Church.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Mike (Susan) Shuter, of Frankton; daughter, Emily (Carl) Hall of Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandsons, Brian (Sarah) Shuter, of Frankton, and Patrick (Sara) Shuter, of Anderson; five great-grandchildren; sister, Doreen Lasley, of Carmel; three nephews and one niece.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Howard Jones; mother, Cleo Jones; and husband, Mervin Leslie Shuter.
The family would like to send special thanks to the staff of Lindberg Crossing Senior Living Canter for their compassionate care of Miss Marilyn for nearly three years.
Funeral service celebrating Marilyn's life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, Frankton, with Pastor Nathan Whybrew officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. and I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frankton United Methodist Church building fund.
